The St. Joseph High School Girls Swim Team heads to St. Louis, Missouri tomorrow as they compete at the MSHSAA State Championships this Friday and Saturday.

Senior (Captain) Audrey Schank

Schank, Audrey

Audrey Schank will graduate St. Joseph Central HS as arguably the school’s most successful swimmer.  This year alone, Audrey has already earned First-Team All-Conference, SJNP Athlete of the Week, and signed a National Letter of Intent with Division 1 Ball State University.  Audrey is a returning First-Team All-State swimmer who will be competing in the 50 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke, 200 Medley Relay, and 200 Freestyle Relay at the MSHSAA State Championships this weekend.  Audrey has been swimming competitively for 11 years.  Her favorite non-swimming hobby is napping.  Audrey enjoys eating chocolate strawberries while she listens to her favorite musical artist, A$AP Rocky.  Her future plans include spending the next four years becoming the best student-athlete she can be at Ball State University.

 

Senior (Captain) Maddie Brownfield

Maddie Brownfield finished her decorated CHS Swimming career with a very strong senior year.  Maddie has already earned First-Team All-Conference and is currently nominated for SJNP Athlete of the Week.  Maddie is swimming the 200 Medley and 200 Freestyle Relays at the MSHSAA State Championship this weekend.  Maddie has been swimming competitively for 12 years.  Her favorite non-swimming activity is going to concerts.  Maddie enjoys eating peanut butter while she listens to her favorite band, The 1975.  Her future plans include spending the next four years at Mizzou as she majors in Biochemistry.

 

Junior Sabrina Quick

Sabrina Quick earned First-Team All-Conference after a strong performance at the Suburban Conference Championships.  Sabrina will be competing in the 200 Freestyle Relay at the MSHSAA State Championships this weekend.  Sabrina has been swimming competitively for 9 years.  Her favorite non-swimming activity is watching movies.  Sabrina enjoys eating brownies while she listens to her favorite radio station, 96.5FM The Buzz.  Her future plans include traveling and going to college.

 

Junior Holly Streck  –

Holly Streck earned First-Team All-Conference after a strong performance at the Suburban Conference Championships.  Streck will be competing in the 200 Medley Relay at the MSHSAA State Championships this weekend.  Holly has been swimming competitively for 10 years.  Her favorite non-swimming activity is running.  Holly enjoys eating pizza rolls as she listens to her favorite CD, “The Pocahontas Soundtrack”.  Her future plans include going to NWMSU.

 

Sophomore Emily Ptomey

Emily Ptomey earned First-Team All-Conference after a strong performance at the Suburban Conference Championships.  Emily will be competing in the 200 Medley and 200 Freestyle Relays at the MSHSAA State Championships this weekend.  Emily has been swimming competitively since fourth grade.  Her favorite non-swimming activity is “kickin’ it with my cats”.  Emily enjoys eating spaghetti while she listens to her favorite CD, “The Hannah Montanna Soundtrack”. Her future plans include training in the offseason with the St. Joseph Swim Academy and earning an individual state cut, next year.

 

Sophomore Jordan Goodrick

Jordan has been swimming competitively for 13 years. Her favorite non-swimming activity is playing a quick game of soccer with her pals.  Jordan enjoys eating spaghetti in silence, as she does not like listening to music.  Her favorite swimming memory is “everyday with Emily”.  Her future plans involve enrolling at UMKC in a couple of years.

 

Sophomore Jenna Cripe –

Jenna has been swimming competitively for twelve years.  Her favorite non-swimming activity is playing the violin.  Jenna enjoys eating pasta while she listens to her two favorite musical artists, Chance the Rapper and Coldplay.  Her future plans include taking a nap.

 

Sophomore Abbey Grooms

Abbey has been swimming competitively for eight years.  Her favorite non-swimming activity is farming.  Abbey enjoys eating pesto pasta while she listens to her favorite singer, Luke Bryan.  Her future plans include becoming an occupational therapist for special education students.
