St. Joseph, MO – The Central Indians Athletic Department is currently recognizing several of our student-athletes for their outstanding contributions and representation to Central Athletics for the month of September.

Here are the nominees:
Volleyball: ABBY SOLLARS – Abby Sollars, Sophomore, libero. Abby led the team in digs with 236, serving percentage of 99% with only 3 missed serves the whole season, and serve receive average with 2.14 out of 3. She tied for most aces with 27. Abby is a hard worker in practice and leads by example on and off the court. She was a huge defensive asset to our team this season. Abby earned 1st Team All City Honors.
Cheer: SHANNON CASEY – Shannon is a dynamic base for cheer. She can go from a main base to a secondary base with no problem. Shannon is always positive and keeps others going. She can been seen on the sidelines cheering and on the competition floor tumbling or being an awesome base. Shannon and her team finished 4th at the State Competition at MIZZOU.
Football: KHALIK HENDERSON –During the month of October Khalik Henderson had 101 carries for 478 yards and 6 touchdowns. He ran for an average of 4.73 yards per carry. He added 6 receptions for a total of 93 yards and one touchdown. In our overtime win against Raytown, Khalik ran for 114 yards and 2 touchdowns. In a tough loss to NKC he totaled 145 total yards and 1 touchdown. In our first-round district win over Oak Park Khalik was a work horse with 41 carries for 266 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Soccer: BUAL TIN THANG – BT as his friends and teammates refer to him. BT had 5 goals in October and three of those came in one game against Liberty North. BT is a sophomore this year and has provided a large spark to our offense. October was his strongest month and he also had three assists in October. BT is a consistent threat to score in every game and allows the rest of our team to be aggressive offensively. BT is also a positive presence on the team and works very hard every day to improve.
Boys Cross-Country: BOSTON SMALL – Boston was 1st team All-Conference, All-District, and a State Qualifier. Four year varsity runner and team captain. Drug Free Super Star and a model scholar-athlete. Boston will compete in the Cross Country race on November 4th in Jefferson City, MO.
Girls Cross-Country: Kacey DuVall – Kacey had a fantastic October and earned 2nd team All-Conference and All-District honors.
