St. Joseph, MO – Last week the SJSD the opportunity to meet with nearly 300 people, both one-on-one and in small groups, to discuss the future of our facilities. These community conversations allowed us to share information and gather feedback on the St. Joseph School District’s Master Facilities plan.
Conversations focused around how we educate children for success in a rapidly changing, modern world and how our schools fit into the long-term vision for a thriving St. Joseph.
The district, along with architects and planning partners, started this process a few months ago by analyzing the dynamic education, enrollment, and financial needs of our district. The process has incorporated dozens of conversations, including several community focus group discussions, as well as many staff and leadership-based discussions to develop several concepts for our future, with particular focus on the high school level. The concepts for continued discussion include:
- Concept A: New Single High School
- Concept B: Two New High Schools
- Concept C: Build New High School & Renovate Central
- Concept D: Renovate Current High Schools
- Concept E: New 9th Grade Center & 10-12 High School
The concepts are now available at www.sjsdfacilities.org
