Indians News · CENTRAL HIRES TENNIS PRO TO LEAD BOYS AND GIRLS PROGRAMS

St. Joseph, MO – In an announcement made today by Principal Dr. Terri Godfrey and Athletic Director David Lau, the Central Indians have officially named Tommy Castronovo as the next girls and boys head tennis coach.

Tommy Castronovo was born and raised in Geneva, Illinois. He played four years of high school tennis at St. Francis College Preparatory and one year of college tennis at Hope College in Holland, Michigan.  He graduated from Hope with a degree in Communications and Business Management.

Coach Castronovo, a United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Certified Tennis Instructor, began his high school coaching career in 2017 at Holland High School in Michigan where he coached both boys and girl’s tennis on the JV and Varsity levels.  Tommy served as the USPTA certified tennis pro at the Dewitt Tennis Center in 2018 where he ran the Hope College Summer Academy. Currently, Coach Castronovo is a full time tennis pro at Genesis Health Club in St. Joseph.

“I could not be more excited for our tennis student-athletes at Central,” said Athletic Director Dave Lau.  “We are very fortunate to hire someone with Tommy’s expertise to lead both programs. Lau added.

“I am excited for the opportunity to continue to grow tennis here in St. Joseph while being able to work with the amazing student athletes at Central.” said Tommy Castronovo.
