Central put up ten runs in the third on its way to a 12-2 victory over William Chrisman on Monday. Central put the pressure on, lead by doubles by Zach Hanlan, Alex Caudill, and Hanlan, a triple by LaVar Felder, and a single by Hunter Madison.
Central knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the first inning. Central scored one run when Caudill doubled.
After William Chrisman scored one run in the top of the fourth, Central then answered when Skylar Kanacsky hit a solo homer.
Central pulled away for good with ten runs in the third inning. In the third Hanlan doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Caudill doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, Madison singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs, Felder tripled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run, and Hanlan doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
Kanacsky earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Central. He surrendered two runs on seven hits over five innings, striking out four and walking one.
Central racked up 11 hits in the game. Hanlan, Kanacsky, and Caudill each had multiple hits for Central. Hanlan led Central with three hits in three at bats. Central was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error.
