The Central Indians Boys Varsity Tennis Team took the court this past Wednesday in the Platte County Invitational. There were eight great teams battling all day in both the cold and heavy winds. These teams included Central, Kearney, Liberty North, Manartha, Park Hill, Pembroke Hill JV, Platte County, and Staley.
The day was comprised of 6 singles brackets and 3 doubles brackets.
Medaling for the Indians were River Flaska, winning 1st place at 1 singles, Lucas Cebulko, taking 3rd place at 2 singles, and Clayton Mikesch, taking 3rd place at 4 singles.
Overall, the team finished with 11 wins in singles and 4 wins in doubles

Manartha – 7
Although there were a few hiccups in the doubles portion of competition, coach Castronovo was proud of his teams effort and overall result.
“As we prepared for this day, I knew there were going to be a lot of good players here and that it was going to be a great test to see how we would match up this early in the season. The boys battled tough and played well and even though it wasn’t the finish that we had hoped for, it gives us building blocks to get better as we prepare to play most all of these teams again.” – Coach Castronovo
