Central Indians Varsity knocked in nine runs in the fourth on its way to a 13-1 victory over Lafayette on Saturday. Junior Myah Dwyer, Junior Chloe Bell, Senior Mia Gray, Senior Natalie Keller, Freshman Zoe Trotter, all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
In the top of the second inning, Lafayette tied things up at one when Sophomore Mackenzie Garr’s wild pitch allowed one run to score for Lafayette.
Central Indians Varsity pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third an error scored one run for Central Indians Varsity and Central Indians Varsity scored one run on a stolen base.
Garr was in the circle for Central Indians Varsity. Garr surrendered one run on one hit over five innings, striking out four and walking one.
Makenzie Leake was on the rubber for Lafayette. Leake went three innings, allowing eight runs on six hits and striking out two. Jersey Cruteau threw one inning out of the bullpen.
Central Indians Varsity had 11 hits in the game. Trotter and Dwyer each collected multiple hits for Central Indians Varsity. Trotter went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Central Indians Varsity in hits.
Stevie Beasley led Lafayette with one hit in two at bats.
